Meopta Polar 60/1.3

Projector lens, I bought it some time. Winter is long, so I started to play Smile

I fixed the lens to unused SA->M42 adapter via removable hot-melt glue. Focusing distance is very short and results in 1:2 macro shots. DOF of this 60/1.3 macro-focused lens is VERY shallow Smile

But body with the front element can be unscrewed - remaining back element (or back group) has focusing distance of about 50-60cm and resulting bokeh is quite interesting (separated back element has much better bokeh than the whole lens).

The lens is not sharp, of course.

Here are some shots:

back element only:

whole lens:

Hi,

Is this a cine film projector lens ? Or a slide projector ?

The slide projectors usually have enough back focus to use if mounted properly, although I don't think there are such big apertures.

Cine film projection lenses do have big apertures like this, but the back focus is short. I have a couple of these, and the effect is like yours.

You can also try using just the front group, that makes a single or doublet with longer focal length.

I have no idea whence the lens comes from, unfortunately. But it seems, that your description fo cine film projection lens suits perfectly.

I found, that Polars were used for 8, 9.5 and 16 mm projectors:

http://www.meopta.cz/index.php?id=315

But they mention only 50/1.5 or 50/1.6. Maybe 60/1.3 was only optional.

I have Meostigmat 50/1.3 too, but they only mention 50/1.0 Smile
