There feels something strange about this. I have for sale a Fuji Finepix camera on ebay. A guy who is based in Serbia wants to buy it, but he says that he cannot do Paypal or credit card from there. He asks for my full name and bank details. I think I smell bullshit, but I have never sold to anyone from Serbia before.

Should I walk away from this one?

IBAN number, BIC/SWIFT code and full name of the account owner are basic data required for IBAN transfer.

If his bank doesn't support IBAN transfer, he can need account number, your address and bank address in addition.

In this situation I don't think I am going to take the risk. I smell a rat here. If I volunteer my information to him and then get my bank account emptied or credit cards applied for in my name, I will not be covered by the banks anti-fraud policy.

For the sake of GBP 100, I'd rather not risk it.

Thanks for the infomation on what he would require Cool

No bad smell, this is sad truth. That is possible they can't use PayPal. Wiretransfer from him a good solution, no risk for you. Another possible on-line method might works , www.moneybookers.com

Thank you, I will look into Moneybookers. I don't want to give the guy too much personal information. With name, address and bank details in the wrong hands, who knows what might happen. It's bad for him if he is a genuine buyer, but these days there is too much crime on the internet that starts with innocent looking request Sad

Almost all German sellers provide Iban number and their address. I think this is safe, but If you have bad felling Monebookers a good compromise.

I think it is made worse that he has a brand new ebay username and 0 feedback. Almost all crimes on ebay they set up a new username for each hit. And he want delivery to a different country. I am going to walk away this time.

I saw some ebay seller that don't sell anything to Serbia because credit cards frauds and many crimes conected to this.

I won't take that risk too.
