Narcissi grown in the UK are normally planted in the autumn, allowed to overwinter and they flower in the spring. Production of flowers at this time of year normally requires special forcing techniques. So called 'Paper White' narcissi are of the Tazetta group and are of Mediterranean origin. They flower 2-3 weeks after planting indoors.

I like #2 as well...I would have maybe taken it so that the stems came out of the corner of the photo though, but that's not to take anything away from the shot as it's hard to get detail in white petals as he has done...
