The last photos of 2008. The weather here is cold with night frosts and liitle improvement during the day. But still plenty of photos about
A walk with the SMC Pentax f2.8 28mm fitted. I’m all wrapped up with thick coat, scarf and gloves. The Pentax is lucky if it gets a few minutes warmth under the coat!
Happy New Year to you all

Fungi, well past it but still looking interesting

No warmth in the old Church but a nice view out the window

Finally my shooting mate modelling the best in hats ( Real leather) and travelling light with just a versatile Canon G7 in his pocket. He is photographing those Fungi.

Nice series, as always...
#5 is superb capture... you really captured the feeling of a person standing inside...

That is quite the hat! Not my style, but it certainly looks like it is superbly made.

I like the images, but I particularly like the shot through the window.
A sort of obtuse angle and a mysterious persona about the image.
I like the way you used the panes to "frame" various parts of the
scene; broken down into little dioramas like that is appealing.

You are to be commended for getting out in the cold!
One thing that I've noticed about your images is that you can
"make lemonade out of sour lemons".
Your imaginative mind and flair for composition really turns out
some head-turning shots.

#1 & #4 look the best to me.

I have a similar pic of a stone cross with a spider's web.

Oh, and I have a better hat. I'll get a pic of me in it if you want a laugh. Cool

Thank you all for your comments
Lawrence
I’m overwhelmed thank you.
I think the hardest part is being motivated to get out and to just enjoy what there is around us. I have always been a believer that the mundane often makes good images because, We are Photographers and see things others miss or just take for granted.
The hat is very special. he already has one but this was got on special order for him and is hand made, real leather, the quality is pretty fantastic and cost more than many of my lenses!
My usual one is a brimmed wax one but this weather I go for a woolly on that can be pulled over the ears when it gets really cold. Woolly hats and gloves also make great camera and lens bags for stuffing gear into a shoulder bag.
