Any thoughts concerning half-frame cameras such as the Soviet-made Chaika (seagull)? Or any half-frame for that matter...

I was wondering if the quality would be acceptable for standard 4x6 prints? Would a development studio be able to handle the odd frame?

I have to say this idea never appealed to me before, though the idea of clicking away for 72 shots is quite nice. Of course this camera would be nothing serious, more just for toy-camera fun. Thanks everyone!

Take a look at Vilva's postings from the Robot that he has.
That is quite a camera and some real gems are available for it.
I have not viewed results from any of the Russians Rolling Eyes

There are other "budget-minded" ones like the Fujica Half, et al.

This idea has tempted me as well...I'd like to hear what users have to say about them Cool

You can get a Russian Agat-18, it is dirt cheap and not hard to find.
This is a very small camera. The lens is ok for 4x5 prints.
Some labs will be able to make half-frame prints, but you need to ask whether they have the necessary accessories.
