Why do i see this nikon lens sell for so much on ebay. $200 plus.

Is the Ais version more wanted? Did the Ai version not able to focus as close as the Ais version of 0.2 meter?

A pro lens , it has two version 0,3 cm and 0.2 cm close-focusing distance. Higher price in most cases show better quality especially in top brands.

The 0.2m version is much better than the 0.3m version. By and large the 28's were the least successful of the nikkors in the 24 - 35 range. The close focusing version of the 28 is a notable exception, so prices tend to reflect this. Actually the price quoted is on the bottom end of the range I typically see them trade in.

A few days ago a Nikkor-C 28mm/2 was sold over ebay-Germany for 271€.
It seemed to be like mint, and was certainly worth the money.
Normally 28mm/2.8-lenses are sold for much less here and can be had pretty cheap. So check German ebay. At the moment there are quite a few to be had
