Does anyone have Carl Zeiss vario-sonnar 28-70mm ?

I think a price around 200 euros is ok
If more expensive better consider the 35-70 who have a great reputation

Dakoo I had this lens.
I would have to say take a pass.
It is the least Zeiss like lens of the Contax lenses.
Not worth the price.
A Tammie or Viv S1 28-90 is a better faster choice and 1/4 the price.
It gave "P+S" results on the 40D.

Sigma is supposed to be the supplier of the optics of this lens. This would account for its relatively low price and difference in optical qualities. I once owned the Sigma badged version of this lens and quite liked it apart from its lack of mechanical quality. But that was 15 years ago and since then I have been spoiled by nicer lenses. The Vario-Sonnar 28-85 is supposed to be in quite a different league, in price, weight and optical quality..
