Hi,
I just bought a Nikon mount Komuranon 135mm F2.5 lens. It is well finished, but I haven't tried it. However, I just could not find any information about this lens. Does anyone own this lens, and know something about it? Is it a rebadged lens so that I should try to search another brand?
Thanks

It is very hard to say anything about this lens regarding description you gave. For sure this is Sankyo Kohki product, lenses well known as Komuranon or as Komura. There is a third name, looks like row o letters Z, X , but I didn't remember exact name. This above average, sometimes high quality product, some lenses can reach very high value. Komura was made also for medium format - Bronica. Take some pictures, you suppose know what you got _________________ Cheers, Voytek |

Thanks for your input.
Here is an image of the lens in question. It is much bigger than Jupiter-11.

I am not sure either. But I also have a KOMURA ZOOM 925. Both lenses have inscriptions 'KOMURA LENS MFG.LTD.' MAybe this 135/2.5 is a very rare lens? |

I took a quick shot with the lens on a Canon 300D at a construction site about 200 meters away. The lens is wide open. It is not a bad lens IMO, but seems not as sharp as a Jupiter-11.
1st is an re-sized image, and the 2nd is a 100% crop without sharpening, and only auto level. |

I tried it again at close distance. Wide open, as you see it is soft, but close down one stop it IS very sharp. It is a nice, low cost lens. |
