I've got a 100mm Schacht that I've never dismantled, but it looks like a simple lens typical of its age. _________________ LENSES & CAMERAS FOR SALE.....

it's very easy to dismantle it. i got it this saturday and had to clean the lens. tube with focusing helicoid screwes off of the rest of the lens , just above the focusing grip, then you can also unscrew rear glass element from the main part of the lens easily. you can access inner part of the front glass by opening the aperture all the way

Thanks for your replies.
After a bit more time looking at the lens I stopped being distracted by all the screws and just tried twisting. Off came the lens assembly complete and the the rear lens unscrewed followed by the front assembly. I'd like to separate the two front lenses and it looks like the ring at the front should unscrew but I don't have a tool to do that. I don't want to try using a pair of dividers in case they slip.
I got an M42 adapter for my Pentax but I've found it lets light in on the camera side. I've just eBayed another one that looks like the flange is wider and hope that will fix that problem.
Perhaps I won't feel I need to clean between the two front lenses when I've used it a bit!
