hehe
Your funny Doug.

No the ikon has it's own personality.
Cleanest, clearest and brightest VF/RF you will ever look through with the longest EBL for very accurate focus.

The shutter is quieter than bessa by a long shot but a bit louder than M6 almost the same as M7.

Metering patern is mostly center weighted and to the left.
Bias to the left to keep from underexposing when shooting in Portrait orientation.

I love the camera. Only wish is for a full frame digital version. Very Happy

Got it and it's beautiful.
Definitely not a Bessa. Wink

Yes, a digital Ikon would be just perfect.

Aha you may have this great value-for-money Cosina camera.. but have you got the depleted uranium / gold plated / hand crafted / rolled on a virgin's thigh lenshood?

Erm, no. Wink The Sonnar 85 is out of reach for me.

But for the ZI, I think it will last much longer than my Canon 5D.

Sandy I have the same.

Try the nikkor 2/85 LTM. I'm testing my old chrome one now.
So far very nice. Sonnar rendering. Sharp enough wide open.
Superb by f4. Flares a bit without hood....good with one.
It's a exact sonnar copy.
The CV heliar 2.5/75 is a great modern option.
Sharp and contrasty from WO. It's compact but kinda ugly at least my silver one is. Rolling Eyes

The optin sonnar 85 is of course also superb. The adapter makes it more expensive than the other 2 mentioned.

Well I'm completely off topic Wink
oops!

Ok one more thing then. J9 ltm is no go for Leica Ltm or M mount.
Focus is not acheivable from mfd to infinity.
The lens is made for contax rf and simply mounted in a ltm barrel.
The rf cam follower must be adjusted for the j9 making the camera useless
for other lenses.
Works great for m4/3 Smile

Thank you Andy! Wink
I did not know about the J9 problems and I was thinking about getting one as a temporary 85mm, good to know.

I'll keep my eyes open for a nikkor 2/85 and a "cheap" Contax RF Sonnar 2/85, but the price has gone through the roof in the last 12 months.

Found a Canon 1.5/85 and a 1.8/85 in Portugal, RF LTM, the 1.8/85 looks very interesting.
