I won an "aus Jena S" 135/3.5 lens for EUR 30. I am going to pick it up tomorrow, but visually it looks exactly the same as the Carl Zeiss Sonnar Zebra lens.
Is it exactly the same, or are there differences between those two?

The seller assured me that it is in working condition. Are there any things I should check specifically? Thanks!

I had both, the zebra is sharper and the MC has more contrast. Both are greats.

I liked the mechanism that increased the diameter of the aperture when you focus closer, in zebras.

Some members of the forum, and they know very much in this questions, said that the "aus Jena" labeled had better QC than the others versions of the lens.

Good luck. Rino.

It looks like new!

No specks or dust at all, and everything runs super smooth.

30 euro well spent, I think Smile

I never seen MINT lens from this one here, you are extremely lucky.

One of the best 135mm lens what I ever had ! Enjoy!!

It is probably not mint, but just very lightly used.

Btw, the leather pouch is also in great condition. That's probably an indication of how well the seller cared for his materials.

That is also rare to find in this lens.

I still have my opinion, this is one of the best 135mm lens, your simple test clearly shows.

Yes, it works 100%

There is a pin, and a button on the side of the lens. Both work to close the diaphragm.

And when you close focus, the aperture blades increase the aperture?

Yes, indeed! I just checked, and the aperture increases when you focus closely.
