Hey!

I'm kind of crossposting this from manualfocus.org and FM, but I just have to know, since the 58 1.2 is my favourite lens and I now have a nikon camera. How do people convert the rokkor to nikon mount? Do they adapt the rokkor-mount itself? or do they add-on a nikon-mount? Where can one buy loose nikon mounts? tips? advice? Smile

I think it's impossible to get the lens close enough to the sensor to focus infinity. You would have to break the mount and remove the mirror.

Quite a few people have converted it to nikon and focus to infinity without breaking their stuff (on a d40). So I know it should be possible, I just don't know how Razz

I have mailed one of the guys that have done it, so I guess I just have to wait for him to reply Very Happy

(I also got great help from one of the guys at FM, a guy in korea does the conversions for $75, if I realize that i can't do it myself, I'll get him to do it)

Okay, I'm sure that this combination will produce great pictures!

I guess mirror could be a problem in a full frame Nikon?

That might pose a problem yes, kind of the same problem as 5d (but not 1ds mark I/II/III). If that is a problem, I'll have to get a nikon 50 1.2 or 55 1.2 AI to use instead.
