Received my first non japanese lens today!
Carl zeiss jena tessar 2.8/50 for 6 us dollars including shiping from a local online auction site
will see how it compares to the 55mm smc tac. I am not expecting a lot from this lens, it seems to be a budget bottom of the line lense from zeiss

Any thoughts or experience with this lense? , has it got some strong points to make it stand out
it only has 5 aperture blades though!

Make sure to try stopping it down to f4 or so and try shooting some out of focus lights/highlights and enjoy the pentagons!

Many lens strive for a circular aperture, but its only a matter of taste. Rare these days are the lenses that does anything but, so now you have a choice Smile

Kelly.

Hi Kelly

You are right, did some test shots late this afternoon
it's quite sharp f4 and smaller with loads of petagons Smile
I have a 500mm mirror as well so can choose any weird bokeh now! Laughing
