I don't use AF-adapters any more.
The copy I have sometimes caused an ERR99 on my 350D and 40D, after removing and mounting it again, it has worked. At a friend's 20D, it has worked perfectly! I don't know why it had this problem.
Thus, I will offer it for very little money: € 12,-.
Perhaps it works on your cam, then you will a cheap AF-confirm adapter.
But it's a little risky, I cannot promise that it does not produce an ERR-message sometimes...
Shipping will be about € 2,- depending on where I send it to.

Hi Carsten, I'm very interested. I'm looking for a chipped adapter that can accommodate the large rear element of the S-M-C Tak 1.4/50. Do yours have the stop-down flange? Any chance you could measure the diameter of the opening? _________________ Peter - Moderator |

Hi, Peter!
Both adapters have this stop-down flange and the tiny screw.
My Super-Takumar 1.4/50 mounts perfectly on either adapter.
(I don't know if S-M-C Tak 1.4/50 has an even lager rear lens.)
Diameters: one opening is 36.3mm and the other one 36.9mm wide.
But they both look very much the same.
Have you read that these adapters sometimes (in about in 1 in 5 occasion)have not worked properly on my 350D?
I needed to re-mount the lens to the cam. Then they have worked again.
So, I cannot guarantee that you won't have the same issue.
P.S.: They come in a leather pouch each. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

Thankyou Carsten. The SMC lenses have an extra lever linked to the aperture dial, which projects beyond the mount and tells the camera the aperture setting to enable open-aperture metering. The lever binds against the inside of the opening on my adapter and bends over slightly. On other SMC lenses this isn't a problem, but the 1.4/50 won't focus to infinity because of the large rear element. I have to use a plain adapter without the flange.
The opening on my adapter measures 36.5mm. I'd be more confident if yours was over 37mm, but maybe 36.9mm is too close to call. What do you think? The alternative is to buy a separate chip to glue on the back of my plain adapter. _________________ Peter - Moderator |

Peter, I can send you the 36.9mm adapter and you try it. If it works - great. Keep it then and transfer me the money. If it doesn't, just send it back. Would that be an idea? _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

Peter, sorry!
I have made a mistake. This adapter does not have an opening of 36.9 but only of 36.2mm. M sliding calliper was not callibrated correctly.
I have found out when I was testing some lenses with the 50e.
This adapter is the only one with which all M42 lenses work on my 50e!
So, I will put it off the list and only sell one adapter! _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!
