I recently aqcuired this lens but I cannot try it out yet because I do not have an M42 to K-bayonet adaptor. Is this lens any good?

I don't remember experience with it. Perhaps if you post a pic of the lens, may be more easy.

Rino.

I have a later but still early DX version.
It is a good performer but not as good as DDR and german lenses of that time.
Better than the old Taks. Not as good as CZJ.
Search for posts by Luisalegria I think he has done a presentation with this lens.

I don't have a Yashinon-R, I'm sorry to say.

Is that one a preset or an automatic ?

Yashica bought most or all of their earliest SLR lenses from other makers, and thats probably one of those. If I had to guess I would say yours is a Tokina. If thats so I probably did test one like yours under another brand.

Why don't you post a picture ?

Thanks for the reply.
The lens is fully manual.
I can't post test pics since I do not have a M42 to k-mount adaptor.
