I just bought:

- Flektogon 25mm/4

- WELTBLICK 135/2.8

As you know i'm too fresh in this world to know anything about lenses. So i'd like you to tell me if they are good lenses for sharp colorfull pictures.

I assume flektogon is as good as 20/4 or 2/2.8.

About WELTBLICK i read something about being nearly as good as CZ counterparts.

The seller states EXCELENT CONDITION of both lenses. Will I be disappointed? Do they have a reputation among you fellas?

Thanks. Wink

25mm perhaps better than 20mm more easier to produce a longer focal length lens than shorter one and if it has M42 mount that is very, very rare!

So, if a longer focal length (25mm) is easier to produce why should it be also more rare than the 20mm?

25mm came out with Exakta cameras with Exakta mount. For a short while till they could make 20mm they produced with M42 too. Wide angle lenses are always expensive , that time Exakta was professional camera not M42 cameras. I think this is the reason why they are so rare. I see only one copy in my life locally and saw at least 20 copies from 20mm.

I screw up on that lens.

WILL FIT: All EXAKTA 35mm SLR FILM CAMERAS. Many DSLR cameras with the use of an adapter.

I guess i'll have to find the adapter, since it does not mention M42 anywhere Laughing

You can get a chipped adapter for about $85 for the 40D

The 25mm Flektogon may be more rare, because it is a unneccessarily complex design for a medium wide angle, even by standards of GDR economics - there were other, less expensive alternatives within the regular lineup of VEB lenses by the time M42 became relevant.

Weltblick was the in-house "brand" of Neckermann - a West German mail order catalogue store. Much like Revue/Quelle or Tower/Sears, a wild variety of items from various manufacturers got sold as "Weltblick" over the course of time - if you are lucky, it is a relabelled CZJ or Tokina, but it is statistically more likely to be something less desirable.

And what about EU sellers? Because coming from Hong Kong it will get stranded in customs... that's for sure.

Hard to find EU sellers on low price, mostly Asian better even if you need to pay tax.

Dang!

Note to self:
That's why you're better off doing things the right way, and not backwards! Laughing
