There are two Hexanons, the AR and not AR.
The firsts are MC, are more contrastiers than the non AR.
The lasts are more sharp but with less contrast.
Both are excelents. I haven't the pancolar 80/1,8 and the contax 85/1,4 or 2,8, but I had the summicrons 90/2 M and R, and the summilux 75/1,4, and the hexanon 85/1,8 is a bit (only a little bit) below.
When you take pics with it, you will understand the honor place where this lens is.

You can see their price list here, it's actually $868 I only saw the native currency and converted it with the current rate when I wrote $800.
