I've completed a couple of initial scans with the V700, of images taken with the new (old) RB67 Pro-S.
These aren't "beauty shots", but simply show the nice properties of the V700 scanning the nice big transparencies.
This first one is from a Provia transparency, cropped a little. Scanner settings were 300dpi and "auto scan" mode.
Solitary Color
And this one from a Black and White transparency (TXP320) from the good folks at dr5 labs. They "pulled" the image from my ISO125 setting.
These are quick scans, no real "processing" going on other than a bit of cropping. I'll be scanning in larger sizes to take advantage of the huge transparencies as soon as I get some time.
Hopefully then, the advantage of having the large trannies will boost the output to be visible on the screen in comparison with a 35mm scan.
I just wanted to sort of "preview" how the scans might be, and I am pleased, especially since these are in automatic mode. The V700 is a valuable tool, and will be even more valuable when I figure out the optimum use of the tool.
I think I'm going to like the black and white transparency scans, and I have a couple of images that are much better than this one with the slightly blown out highlights. As I indicated above, these are just quickies. _________________

I like your style, Attila!
I've blocked off some time for Wednesday evening to concentrate on better and larger scans.
The first scan was with the 127mm Mamiya-Sekor C lens, so I could see how the color and detail was doing, and I must say the color is really true to the real thing...detail on this posting is not really showing how spectacular the detail is on the transparency.
The other scan (black and white) shows promise, as I was wondering how the huge dynamic range would fare on the V700. It seems to be picking up the wildly dichotomous blacks and whites nicely. I particularly like the "black" blacks. _________________

How do you cut your roll film ? I wouldn't find the best size how can I scan on V500, two slices are small, 3 slices are long for scanner _________________ -------------------------------

It is the same for me, Attilla. I cut my film every 4th image. I can only fit two at a time, so I arrange them so that the "excess" hangs out of the end of the scanner. So, I scan the leading two frames, then turn the strip of 4 around and scan the other two frames. I have found too, that it makes no difference if the scan is of the emulsion side, or the glossy side. _________________
