Small company that disappeared after 1959, made a Leica copy (Tanack) for about a decade as well as some M39/Canon and obviously Nikon/Contax lenses.

Alternately it may not have made its lenses, but sourced them elsewhere.

I do not know much about Tanaka Kougaku, but
some wide angle lenses under the name of TANACK
is well known for its L-mount or fixed-lens camera.

A quick search by Google in Japanese publications
did not bring much information.

If it was special for some reason maybe it would be fun

It kind of resemble the Asahi-Kogaku 135/3.5. But yet, it does not. Very Happy Helpful ey? Very Happy

Looks a lot like an early 135/2.8 Soligor I have, of about the same vintage probably.

Probably coincidence.

I don't think so this lens provide good quality.
