Olympus camedia c-2020 zoom IF abilities

Really to say I decided to make a look at that camera after I discovered the following article:

Camera itself, with the dedicated camera bag, and two flash memory cards (8Mb and 16Mb) was obtained on the local marked for $20.

Which is not so cheap, but rather "so-so may be".

It is in the quite decent condition (only had to clean contacts in the battery compartment from the old battery leak).

However I suddenly discovered, that it uses completely obsolete Smart Media cards. For which I didn't have any card reader!

And that in the best Tiff mode my biggest flash is able to hold only 2 images!

So, I have to look for the proper card rider, and decided also to search for the more suitable card.

At the end I discovered the completely new proper card rider (in the factory packing) for $1.75

However the obsolete Smart Media cards came to be really expensive on the second hand market.

Well, at the end I was able to obtain some proper no name card in 128mb for $10, which is not so bad at all. It is able to hold 22 images (SHQ) quality. Which completely satisfy my main purpose with that camera - to shot the infrared images.

I own NEEWER IR760 filter, so I decided to start with it.

There is the first try:

ISO there was 196. So, it is possible to shat at the daylight handheld. Looks like it doesn't have any IR filter in the camera at all

I almost bought one in early part of century. I waited until Canon XT price dropped to $1000. Another story...

You IR results look like so much fun I bought one on ebay for $20. I came with 16mb card! Waiting for IR filter...

How do you attach filter to your camera? Have CLA-1? I'll probably have to kludge.

The Raynox 41-52 adapter arrived today. It works perfectly with my 52mm R720 filter! The adapter is made for using the Raynox 2020 close-up lens.

The official Olympus CLA-1 is a 41mm-43mm adapter.

Many lenses use 52mm filters, such as Nikkors. Not many lenses use 43mm filters.

The Raynox 41-52 cost about half the ebay going price of CLA-1.

Oops! As it turns out those aren't stars! At this point I'm guessing sensor dust. Guess I'll try to clean it. Or hot pixels -- no fixing that. Evidence, note different backgrounds, same "stars":
