Hi,

I'm interested to buy a 35mm and a 135mm and i'm divided between these models:

Zuiko 35mm f/2.0 - CZJ Flektogon 35mm f/2.4

Zuiko 135mm f/2.8 - CZJ Sonnar S 135mm f/3,5

For those who have tested all of them, which ones do you find better?

Thank you for your help. Wink

Oddly enough for someone who has a fair amount of both Olympus and Zeiss stuff, I've never used ANY of those 4 lenses.

Based on that experience, my advice is to buy them all.

You can't go wrong any of them I have many Olympus OM lenses and almost all Carl Zeiss Jena lenses what is commonly available.

I prefer Zeiss.

The Jena Flek 35 and Sonnar 135 are the two must-have M42 lenses - buy them and be happy. Cool

Thank you for your help! Unfortunately i can't buy them all, but i already noticed that's the usual method in here. Laughing
I think i'll go with the Zeiss in both cases.

By the way, today i bought an OM 24mm f/2.0 (described as mint) and i can't wait to test it!
I paid 204eur, do you think it was a bad deal?
Of course the model is not as expensive as the 21mm f/2.0, but i think the usual price is pretty much the same of the 21mm f/3.5.

I had 24mm f2 nice lens ! Congrats! I sold it because I have Nikkor 24mm f2.8 AIS and I think this is the best one to me. 21mm f3.5 less expensive than f2 and many people state quality is same. 21mm f3.5 is an exceptional good lens I rate higher than my 18mm f3.5.

congrats Jim!
It is a great first ebay buy!
This is a very good deal, the lens is like new
When you get it, make some shots to verify the borders (for asymmetry)
Zuiko are great lenses and value rise quick as more people rediscover them

You will not be disappointed with either.

I finally got a shot with my Zuiko 21mm f2 that shows what it can do, using a Clorox bottle bounce on Sigma accessory flash. 21 has ED glass.

use options for Large and Original for a close look at the image

I finally used my CZJ 300mm f4. It was a not so steady tripod, night, 5sec exposure, 2x Helios M42 teleconverter, and I could read license plates very well, far beyond where my eyes could see. I'll have to use a better tripod but I can tell I like that lens. The bokeh seems to have graceful decay, too, like CZ Contax.

Thank you for your opinions!
Yes, i think that zuiko was a very nice deal. Smile

Talking about the main subject, now i'm thinking in the Nikkor 35mm f/2.0 AIS. I think it will outperform both Zuiko and Flektogon...
Anyone have some tests in a full-frame camera?

Now there is also the Elmarit-R f/2.8 on my head...
It's cheaper than the Nikkor, the only problem is the corner performance in full-frame cameras.
I saw a test (http://slrlensreview.com/content/view/489/131/) and the results show that in the center, is almost as good as the Summicron-R, but in the corners the performance is bad and not comparable with the more expensive version.
