A little while ago I bought a cheap zuiko 50mm 1:1.4 for 30 euro. I knew it would not be perfect, however it seems to have some more issues than anticipated.
The apperture is sticky, which is not a very big problem since it is used on digital.
However I noticed later that one of the internal elements is dirty (not counting dust and what seems as some flakes from the aperture?) and I can not really see what it is.

I personally think it is haze from grease that got in the lens, as the aperture is also sticky and judging from the other lens that the seller had, it had not been stored very well.
However I am not sure about this (limited experience) and thus I would like your judgement on what it is, since you probably have more experience in this matter than I do.
If it has fungus instead, I will probably sell it to a more adventurous person, as opening lenses is somewhat outside my comfort zone and I don't want it spreading to my other lenses/camera.
It takes nice photos though, the dirt is totally invisible straight on, only visible under a light source and off-axis.

Welcome to the forum! Poilu, you should know a new user's first post can never contain pictures. Wink

Based on my experience I'd say this is some sort of "moisture haze". So it should be cleanable. Opening lenses is not very hard but I'd suggest you to try worthless lenses* first.

(* isn't that blasphemy to say on a MFlenses forum? Very Happy)

+1 this is can be happen with anylens if lens cleaning fluid goes to inside of lens. It did happen with me too, when I did try to clean lens surface 'brain less ..' Laughing

Thanks, that is a relief. I haven't really got a 'worthless' lens (and the right tools for that matter).
The closest representative lens I have is a zuiko 50mm 1:1.8, which cost me about as much as this one, and was the first MF lens I bought, so that is not really an option.

If I ever get the tools I might try this, sadly I'm better at taking stuff apart than putting it back together...
(I believe olympus.dementia.org went offline, that had some wonderfull part diagrams and such for this kind of things Sad )

it has been moved under different domain, but it´s still on. silly I can´t find it now, I have it bookmarked on second PC..
