Hi there!
I have an copy of Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 135/4, for Exakta cameras, with leather ring on focus.
Anything optically is great, love that lens, but real problems is - aperture not work(i dont think i can repair this), and little dust in first blocks.
Need to clean it, but dont have much experience of it. Is there any scanned manual of that lens, or maybe actual "tutorial"? Because it seems to be unscrewed only from back side, and Im afraid a little to remove whole bunch of optics...
Thanx! |

This may be a silly question, but are you operating the aperture properly?
When you adjust the aperture ring it stays wide open, you need to press the button to make it stop down. _________________ I welcome C&C, editing my pics and reposting them on the forum is fine.

No, I know how it works.
The whole aperture mechanism is stuck, inside the lens body, and the button aluminum trigger is bended wrong way(by someone tried to push it too hard with stuck aperture, i think). For my point of view, that mechanics are very accident-sensitive, unlike more popular preset apertures...
That lens is very good in wide open, and that problem not really bothers me. _________________ =-=Canon eos 1100D=-=Zenit-E=-=
