zeiss colour modification software possible?

Right we all know that digital captured shots the colour is infinitely variable, resolution/blur is one thing that cannot be recreated accurately but colour can, so If you were to take a picture with a given camera in a given light of a known colour set with a specific lens (ie 350D with a Ziess lens in controlled light, taking picture of some Pantone colour swatches, + white) then you could take the same picture with a (cheap) reference lens, then you could compare the two and create a Ziess colour change (maybe an action in PS?). Am I along the right lines.... I'm sure it wont be long before someone tries it!

Colour profiles for specific cameras have been around for a while. I believe DxO (or whatever its name is) includes one for each camera it covers.

Not quite the same thing but you can get actions for Photoshop to simulate the appearance of different film types like Velvia for example.
