eeek, envy!! But honestly, I had the CZJ 1000mm once and rapidly sold it,
just not manageable such beasts(s)

Walk around lens for the zoo I think.
8kg isn't that bad.
People will notice though.

I will, for sure, give it a try. Not so easy, as this beast weights a moderate 7,37 kg. Plus camera. Plus heavy tripod.
And of couse you need to find something worth to shoot, next to brick walls or tree tops.

Klaus

This mirror lens weighs 7.37kg while the conventional SMC Tak 500/4 weighs only 3.5kg?! Shocked

Nice sturdy build then, so, did you get any manageable shots for us to have a look at?

It is already back in it's wooden box, waiting for a nice picture idea and better weather. And be sure, I don't want to show the usual brick-shot.

Klaus, you're right!
Fun to have, awkward to use!
Have the 1000, too. Will keep it, as mine is a Muster-lens and the very first black Prakticar, that was made. And it was made in Jena, not in Saalfeld, as usual. Was used to collimate all following Praktica lenses, that were made.

Simply beautiful, have you tried the standard moonshot? or perhaps a long distance flower shot Smile

No moonshot right now. When reading your question, I realize, that I never did a moonshot with my Canon. Last ones, I did, were made during my Sigma time.
I shall try it with the Canon, much better with live view and good high ISO possibilities.
