I finally found the time - and a suitable state of mind - to fix my Electro GSN with a faulty exposure meter. When I had opened it - and desoldered the flash sync wires to get the top off completely, I checked the POD and surprise - it was as new. White, hard rubber or plastic. completely intact. I just cleaned some contacts I saw inside - and the exposure lights were lighting up as they should and the shutter seems to work up to 15 seconds at least. Very Happy

I had some difficulties to solder the flash sync wires back again, but now the camera is in one piece, waiting for light seal replacement. I have a Jon Goodman kit, it should be rather simple, I hope.

But here´s my question: when I close the back door, there´s definite play on the upper latch side corner. I removed all old light seal materials, but the play didn´t go away. Is the door faulty or crooked, or is this normal?

My that sounds like some horrible bowel condition - but seriously...

I have 3 Elecro models, two tightened up completely when seals replaced, one had a problem similar to yours, which oddly stopped manifesting whenever a film was put in! Whether the film meant the latch / latch slot joint was under tension and thus 'stiffer' I do not know... none of the three shows any fogging though... Smile

I'd suggest you put a film canister in and see if the problem disappears? Might just work, it did for me...

All the best, Happy 2009!

Doug.
