Anyone know which cameras used to come with any Takumar lenses? I am hunting for bargains on eBay. Thanks.

Some Alpa, rare, high price imho.

Might be found on ebay on nearly any camera, especially nowadays given so many adapters available, but mostly on any with M42 mount camera, or any camera with M42 adapter.

Asahi Pentax Spotmatic models like SP were sold new with Super-Takumars.
Asahi Pentax Spotmatic models F, ES, & ESII were sold new with Super-Multi-Coated Takumars.

all of these: https://www.pentaxforums.com/camerareviews/pentax-m42-screwmount-film-slrs-c5.html

Spotmatics are the most common ones. Ebay has become a tough place to find bargains. In Europe anyway. Since Brexit it has become even less interesting.

Yeah, prices are high for Spotmatic. But I grabbed a nice grubby looking Super Takumar 55mm f1.8 on a Zent 11 just now for a good price. Hopefully grubby = more character. Thanks.

You should look in Japan. Film camera's are popular again due to the analogue hype. Via Zenmarket and Buyee on Yaho auctions you can find the more common Takumars very cheaply. Sometimes jus 1 yen when you are lucky. Zen market also offers on stop shopping and bundling as part of the standard fee. You pay VAT ahead so there are no customs charges (this probably depends on where you are located).

Takumar is the brand from Asahi Optical Co (Pentax)

They were made for the Asahiflexes (M37);
the screwmount Pentaxes (M42) of which the Spotmatics are the most common and the (Auto-Takumar for the K) Super Takumar for the S onwards and S-M-C Takumar for the SP-F and ElectroSoptmatics

Takumar name was also used for the 6x7 line of lenses

If you find errors in the camera-wiki page, let me know to correct them
Most of the information comes from Gerjan vanOosten's book and the takumarology website which are linked in the article
Thanks
