Hi folks.
Here is my latest haul.
Nikkor 200-400/4 AIS. I've actually had that one for a couple of weeks already and made a posting, but without a picture. As mentioned before it's a bit dusty inside but no haze, and fine otherwise. According to different sources, only 495 were sold (one source says 295?) . A very lucky strike indeed.
All the other lenses (forgive me the AF ones...) were part of a deal where I swapped some of my unwanted gear for these.
Chinon flavoured tomioka 55/1.2 which I've wanted for a long time. That version is probably one of the latest versions, and seems to have better coatings than the others. It is in really good condition. Not really tested yet.
Nikkor 20-35/2,8. Good to have.
Nikkor 500/8 N later version. Pristine condition (with a tamron hood in the pic 🤔🤫) I already have the first version. Will compare them sometime.
Sigma 500/4,5 APO. Uncommon. Glass and mechanics are excellent. Cosmetics are from a used lens...
In this deal but not in the picture is also a tamron 350/5,6 mirror. I had to give that one back because of a bad misaligned element. (It's been opened and cleaned) It is currently being fixed and I hope that will be the subject of my next posting.
A very happy deal anyway.

Impressive haul. It would be interesting to compare the Sigma and Nikon zoom. I didn't know that few were made of the 200-400mm f/4. |

This is one of nikon's better efforts at an all-around 50. Great MFD is nice and close. Bokeh is a bit different- even at 5.6 focused close in. It can get a bit glowy wide open in high contrast cross-lit situations, so it is not perfect, or a modern equivalent. Still very nice to work with.
I won't be parting with mine anytime soon.

Mamiya Sekor CS 2.8/35mm, finally! It was mis-labelled as a "Minolta" lens, and so the Mamiya collectors didn't find it and the Minolta poeple were not interested. One or two years ago I found the equally rare Mamiya Sekor EF 2.8/35mm which seems to have the same lens section. Let's see whether they perform identically.

The Mamiya is supposed to be good, congratulations. |
For me it has been an excellent lens. Have no idea whether copy variation also was a flaw in the CS range. _________________ Met vriendelijke groet, Ernst

Some also like the 50mm/2, which I don't have. Will see how this 1.4 performs. |

The K- based f2 50 is an excellent optical design, with fairly consistent rendering through all it's iterations.
(There is also an "H" 50 f2 that is popular with some)
I think I had as many as 8 of them here at one time, and have had at lest nearly 20 of them pass through my hands over the years.
I've got 3 immediate to hand here that I know of. The standout (not by a whole lot) was one of the last variants with an odd long prong over the rear element, and a three screw bayonet mount. This series is a lens that I would like to keep at least two of for it's good contrast. If you can get a chance at one for a reasonable price, it will be very much worth it. Full frame seems to bring out the best in this series, at least in my hands.

i do have the H version and i have to admit that this one is the most robust nikon lens i have , never serviced like new and everything is smooth just like good lenses, but i do admit that i havent used it yet (its easier for me to grab the faster 50´s) - other f2 i like is septon - why would this H version would be any special? besides small amount of distorsion |

Yes. We all dread the infamous "Zen" finish, but this one is not bad. Maybe it has to do with the fact that our climate here is semi-desert and extremely dry except for a couple of weeks in the rainy season.
I 'll try to compare the lot sometime soon. (Nikkor 200-400, 2x 500/8, Sigma 500 and tamron 500/

The old "H" is another of those "classic" rendering lenses. Of all the nikon 50's I've used, it is the fastest to focus. It is by no means a modern lens~ it's warts are quite obvious. Still, at least here, it was a favorite of newsmen for it's speed of use. My particular copy has made some surprising images reversed on the equally ancient PB-2 bellows unit.

You have a very nice looking copy there! Show some images here when you have them. You are also quite correct about user's interpretations of this focal length and aperture range~ at least on this forum.

I think so. This one focus a bit closer than the other versions. It focus down to 1.25:1 while the others only do 1:1. _________________ https://lensfever.com/

Hi guys.
Got today a long due Vivitar 35/3,5 preset. Exc+ condition after I removed some fingerprints. Cost was $ 20. I was dreading a Tokina 47mm mount (the seller was showing a pic with a very long rear cap) but it turned out to be a T-mount with a blessed M42. Even the filter thread is 52mm and not 46 or 43 as in other similar lenses from the time. (I also have the earlier version under the Cunor name with a 43mm thread). I haven't tested much yet but it Seems sharp enough to me WO in the center so far. I'm using DSLRs only so I don't have any lens with soft corners. 😉

Now I need the similar 35/2,8...
A very lovely little lens.
