Nikkor 50mm F/1.8 AiS (Pancake, first version with 1.5'/0.45m close focus distance)

O.C. Nikkor 35mm f2.

7 bladed aperture.

Took a couple of frames with it on the old F-2. I'll have to A/I convert it to show image testing here later on.
It's in fairly nice shape with a bit of tobacco smoke residue on the glass.
Hopefully have a bit more on this in a couple of days.

Wow I have a beaten copy just like this , I believe it was in Vietnam's war , glass affected and body just the same, but it still takes nice pics

Not too shabby.

Wide open here at f2 and minimum focus distance of a bit over a foot according to the scale on the lens. In actual practice it's about 2 1/4 feet away from the image plane. Good detail with slight vignetting and a bit of barrel distortion.

Quick scenic of nothing at all shows moderately good definition at f5.6. Focus point was the red bricks on the structure in the back-ground.

Both me and the Mrs. got a good laugh out of this one.
Self portraiture at arms length at f5.6 Wink

I am quite impressed with this performance. I have to look it up, but IIRC, O.C. was late 60's, very early 70's.

Huh, are you using it on an adapter or a native F-mount camera? How accurate is the other end of the focus scale, at infinity? If you're not dealing with adapters, then I would guess that your lens has been opened up and then reassembled improperly. This lens doesn't have CRC though, so other than lacking closer focus, there may not be any negative impact on images.

I'm as excited about the camera as I am the lens. I actually posted about 2 years ago having purchased one of these, but that copy never arrived. Now another has made it to me, and it's in excellent working condition, it looks to have barely been used. The controls and feel are so similar to the Seagull original DF model that they must share some components.

It's on a D-810 here, so no adapter. Like most other nikon lenses, it will focus just slightly past infinity. It's not the first nikkor for me to have a "stretched" MFD- almost all do except for the K based 50's and 85's. I have an A/I-s 1.4 50mm that comes within an inch or two of MFD. The lens pictured above is in such great condition, I doubt that it's been worked on, but I could be wrong...

Edit: Photosynthesis.n.z. sez the O.C. version was made from '73-'75.

"Cousin" of Haiou-64 Laugh 1
Great lens. It will probably sound blasphemous to many, but Biotar is worse.

Mamiya Sekor CS 2.8/35mm, finally! It was mis-labelled as a "Minolta" lens, and so the Mamiya collectors didn't find it and the Minolta poeple were not interested. One or two years ago I found the equally rare Mamiya Sekor EF 2.8/35mm which seems to have the same lens section. Let's see whether they perform identically.

And a Minolta (Tamron) AF 18-200mm which was too cheap to omit.

I've got one from ebay a couple of years ago. Still didn't have much time to try it.

Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 150mm f/4.
I had the Pentax K version before, and it was actually a really, really good lens. Should have never sold it in the first place, but glad I got it back.

Like 1 Happy Dog Congrats What is it about this lens that makes it so much fun? Smile For me it brings subjects at a certain distance close-up -- perfect for intimate candids!

I already have the later Sekor EF version (albeit with dry focus), and that one is pretty good indeed - but so are most of the "modern" 2.8/35mm from the 1975-1985 time frame (Canon FD, Konica AR, Minolta MD, Yashica ML ... you name it). The Sekor CS seems to have the same optical construction as the Sekor EF (same lens section published), but with Mamiya you never know ... Both my EF 1.4/50 as well as the EF 3.5/50 Macro are better than the CS version with the "same" lens section, and my Mamiya Sekor E 2.8/28mm is inferior to the corresponding CS 2.8/28 ("identical" lens sections as well ...)

Since I'm currently taking pictures in Umbria/Italy, I wont be able to check the lenses yet.

Hi folks.
Here is my latest haul.
Nikkor 200-400/4 AIS. I've actually had that one for a couple of weeks already and made a posting, but without a picture. As mentioned before it's a bit dusty inside but no haze, and fine otherwise. According to different sources, only 495 were sold (one source says 295?) . A very lucky strike indeed.
All the other lenses (forgive me the AF ones...) were part of a deal where I swapped some of my unwanted gear for these.
Chinon flavoured tomioka 55/1.2 which I've wanted for a long time. That version is probably one of the latest versions, and seems to have better coatings than the others. It is in really good condition. Not really tested yet.
Nikkor 20-35/2,8. Good to have.
Nikkor 500/8 N later version. Pristine condition (with a tamron hood in the pic 🤔🤫) I already have the first version. Will compare them sometime.
Sigma 500/4,5 APO. Uncommon. Glass and mechanics are excellent. Cosmetics are from a used lens...
In this deal but not in the picture is also a tamron 350/5,6 mirror. I had to give that one back because of a bad misaligned element. (It's been opened and cleaned) It is currently being fixed and I hope that will be the subject of my next posting.
A very happy deal anyway.

Nice to see a Manfrotto tripod plate.

Let us know how the big zoom and 500 mirror work out.

Impressive haul. It would be interesting to compare the Sigma and Nikon zoom. I didn't know that few were made of the 200-400mm f/4.

So, is there a proper ready-made adapter for CS series yet? The one I have is fine for E-series, but with CS series it doesn't change the aperture. It is possible to fix it with a piece of plastic in each lens but it is not very convenient solution.
