I have two early topcor exa mount in cm, very nice rendering , 8 blades and very tiny compared to the RE
That 9cm I expect should give very nice results for portraits, I dunno anything about it anyway, are very hard to see in Europe |

I think they're quite a bit more rare than the RE versions. |

That's what I've noticed (possible 1958-59?), wonder how many have been made because they're barely visible for sale, and hard to get info of them, the few times I've used them I was very pleased with the results, as most of the lenses I'm using, are the faster ones |

Here's a strange one, at least for me. It's a Tair-11 1:2.8/135 with the 20 blades, but it doesn't look or feel like any other Tair-11 I've seen. I also have the normal old 11A 1:2.8/135.
The seller said it was the "film" version adapted to M42 (by what appears to be a very well-done mechanism similar to a projection lens).
The triple-zero serial number and sheer strangeness made it too hard to pass up. Plus those 20 blades! I'm on the fence as to its image quality. I've only had chance to take her out in poor light, but I guess ahe rendered decently enough. I've been nursing an obsession with old CCD sensors lately, so maybe my current color expectations are a little harsh. Would love to see how she does with specular highlights. Sample images available at my Flickr (see signature line).
Edit: one more perk is the MFD: it's something like 82 or 85 centimeters, which seems pretty great for a 13.5cm lens.

Vivitar 55mm 2.8 macro in OM mount , I need to adapt it to my mostly used mount Nikon, FD, Minolta is there any ring for these mounts? As I don't wanna carry another adapter tube with me only for this lens. I did find a mount ring Nikon mount that supposedly I need to replace the actual OM mount and fit in the Nikon , and is adjusted for infinity. What do you guys think about this option ? (This one cost me half of what I've paid for the lens itself and that's not fair I guess. |

In the photos I can see a clamp on hood, meant to be extendable, which is interesting. 100mm clear aperture.
The catoptric/catadioptric components looks short enough to make this interesting, either somewhat telephoto or somewhat fast.
If there were any wires that went into it, it doesn't look like there's signs.

Congrats!
I got a Syoptic 50mm f/1.1 for maybe $60? As Philip tested, it is a surprisingly excellent lens. I couldn't tell much difference from Voigtlander 50mm f/1.2 E. |

Finally, something that truly fits the description of "built like a tank" when referring to a lens. My Jupiter-21M menagerie is intimidated. _________________ Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/aberratedsoul/ |

This is TV version of Tair-11, used with Tair-3 on TV camera. I believe it was produced while the first version of Tair-11 for film camera was produced.
I believe it is on the camera here (upper position) :

Here, you can see the Tair-3 TV version (bottom position).

Here is mine without adaptation. Yours have been adapted to M42

Here is Tair-3 and Tair-11, both TV version and both adapted next to each other.

Later KMZ produced the Tair-11T and Tair-3T for KT-27 TV camera. The optical diagram was slighly recalculated for better use with thick neutral filter (4mm + 4mm!) used on TV cameras. _________________ Pierre

I have just received my fourth copy of this lens.
All of them seemed in pretty good external shape.
One had faulty internal mechanics,
One had a tilted focus plane,
One could not focus at infinity from 70 to 100 mm but was OK a part from that and I kept it. But corners were not perfect at 200mm.
I saw and ad for a 17 € copy and decided there was little to loose. Was described as perfect, like new. Like new indeed but with a fungy dot inside.
I tested it and was amazed. Perfect at all focal distances. So this one will stay with me and it is under an Ikea Jansjo UV lamp for an UV bath for a while.
Just for you to know that my excellent Minolta MD 75-150 has been trounced...
These late Tamron adaptalls are sub par regarding mechanics and quality control but the optical computation is very good. So it is difficult to find a good copy and you need to pamper it once you find one. _________________ Lumens Pixel
