This one always interested me. I have the 24 35 that is tiny and very sharp closed down to 6,7 except corners. I bought a 24 50 long time ago but had to return it since it was completely wobbling like if front and aft were to separate (Described Excellent +++ of course).

If I had to guess the maker of the 50/2.8, Cosinon might be a good bet.

i'd take that bet, seems likely it came attached to one of the ubiquitous cheapo rebranded SLRs of the 70s (ala ricoh singlex tls), probably with a name like NAVITARFLEX

I have both the Rokkor-X as well as the Rokkor 4/24-50mm, and a friend of mine has a beautiful sample of the MD-III 4/24-50mm. They all perfom identically. The MD 24-50mm was a very expensive lens back then, but the contemporary MD-II primes (2.8/24mm, 2,8/35mm, 1.4/50mm) are visibly better, of course.

I've never seen that one here in Switzerland, and I wonder how it performs, especially compared to the MD 24-50mm and the Tamron SP 24-28mm!

Nice 24-48mm. I got three copies. The first one is stuck open; the second one was good initially but became stuck open after a few months. The first third one can't be stopped down completely. But I still like this lens, very good zoom range and decent performance.

Well, I don't have the Tamron but when I find time I'll compare the Vivitar and Minolta.

Minolta Hi-Matic 7 Rokkor-PF 45mm 1.8 5 groups 6 elements 5 aperture blades of a dead camera.
Petri 7 4,5cm 1.8 4 groups 6 elements 8 aperture blades of a dead camera (light meter not working + the aperture blades damaged and in disorder)
Both converted to FE mount with a Chinese reverse adapter + 3D printed parts. Minolta original linear guide fork for the helicoid replaced by a modification of the original rear baffle support + a 3D printed part.

Well, I've got a wobbling one as well, and discovered that I needed just to refasten two screws inside the lens to fix it. So, the problem's solved and my sample is now as solid as it is supposed to be. Great lens, BTW, even though I'm not sure if it is as good as my Tamron SP 24-48 mm f/3,5-3,8 around the corners...

My new lens is a Sigma zoom.
The 100/400 in sony mount.
Cheapest option to Sony cameras. And a good lens.

Both this and the new Tamron 150-500 will be a good choice for E mount users, depends on your need.

I couldn't let it pass.
Praktica Super TL with Tessar 50mm 2.8 and Flektogon 35mm 2.8, both in zebra style.
Tessar rather heavy focusing, but the Flek still works great.

THanks for sharing that infrmation - it would be interesting to hear / see how this lens compares to the contemporary 1.7/55mm Rokkor (or a later the 1.7/50mm).

Three at once today. From a fellow forum member of the Dutch Pentax Forum a Vivitar (Tokina) 17mm 1:3.5 and a Pentacon 100mm 1:2.8 (In exakta mount but with a exakta to m42 detachable adapter edit: it's m39 Either way probably no infinity) Totally €60. And from Japan for 680 yen a pristine looking Tamron Adaptall-2 35-135mm 1:3.5-4.2 22A. Of course there was also shipping but everything include I paid a bit less than €100 for the lot.

Watch the haze on the Vivitar 17mm middle element. I have posted a video to show how to clean.

Hi D1NO, what are the limitations of the exa/m42 adapter please ? I bought 2 cheap ones to be fitted with 3 grub screws but the 50mm just focus like 3 feet maxi... (crap) Now I wonder about these other exa to eos adapters, how do they manage infinity without glass ? Means the whole exa mount gets inside the eos body ?

It turns out to be an exa to m40 adapter Praktiflex (or maybe for Exakta m40 extionsion rings). I have those grubby screw adapters too. Ofcourse exakta lenses can't reach m42/PK infinity (flange focal distance 44.7 vs 45.46mm) but on longer lenses it's not so bad. Canon EF (EOS has a flange focal distance of 44mm so exakta will be at the correct distance, and since Exakta has a narrow mount it fits inside EF).
