It should say so near the base of the lens in front of the serial number so 52B XXXXXXXX

With the collar ring, rear threads for filter and straight ribbed focus rubber grip I'm convinced mine is the earlier version.
And yes, there is 55B in front of the s/n.
Bit of a concealed location for the slightly tiny font for a s/n...

O.K., thanks ~ got it! Mr. Green I can be pretty dense at times, duh Rolling Eyes

Apparently this lens had sat in less than clean storage for quite a while with no front cap on it.
The Zeiss wipes came off pretty grunged up.
I can't believe how long I've gone without a hurricane blower.
The focusing screens and mirrors on both F-2's are spotless now.
Hoping for some sunshine weather tomorrow.
I'd like to run a dozen frames through this lens, at least.
It seems obvious to me that I'm not going to be able to do much hand held work with it, unless there is full brilliant sun daylight.
For those here that have put some time in with this lens and film, what focusing screen works well?
I hate the "K" screen with it already. Will try with the "B" type tomorrow.
If worse comes to worst, I can try with an "E" type, but I think I'll need a magnifier for that one...

With my 55B I put it on my 5DII and a monopod down the road and focus on a wall, Back in and pleased with the image. I also snaged the 350 with a tripod foot.

About 15 minutes ago I took delivery of a Carl Zeiss Jena 25mm f1.4 Biotar lens that originally had a pentaflex 16 mount. The eBay seller modifies these to M4/3 mount. This intrigued me so I decided to pick one up. The serial number dates it to 1962-ish.

So yes, it does have some hard vignetting in the corners since the lens is intended for a 16mm movie camera and a M4/3 sensor is 21.6) mm across. No amount of stopping down resolves that. But I think it also means that the lens is actually wider than 25mm (about 18.5 by my math), so room to crop down.

The lens has also been serviced and regreased. Smooth as silk. The first thing I tried was one of my standard sharpness and contrast tests where I take a series of pictures of a building about 750 meters away with apertures from wide open to usually about f11. My initial impression is that even wide open at 1.4 it is sharp with fairly decent contrast. Stop it down 1 stop and contrast improves considerably. I am really impressed.

Regards, C.

Those are excellent lenses, I have the 1.4/50mm also from the Pentaflex-16 camera. No modification needed as there are commercially available adapters for it!

Results are in here an are very "cineastic": https://www.flickr.com/photos/kds315/albums/72157672400003047

Focus rubber was turning freely. One drop of glue remedied it.

Beautiful. Although I have the re-branded version, I don't own Panagor version.

Two classical Canon FL lenses, the FL 2.5/35mm and the FL 3.5/135mm. The latter is a rather smallish 135mm lens with a Sonnar construction (not Ernostar as most later 3.5/135mm).

I have Vivitar (f2.Cool, Elicar (f2.Cool, and some brand starting with G (f3.0, forgot the exact name). Soligor and Sears I believe that's Tokina. It is a 1:2 lens needing an adapter to reach 1:1.

Tele-Takumar 300mm 1:6.3 arrived today. It was a bit hazy so I cleaned the front element after some trouble getting the name ring out. Threads of the ring were damaged, so I made some notches to get it back in, bit I managed to get it completely stuck so now the front element is loose and I can't attach a hood which it most definitely needs. There also is some dirt in it, but I don't think I can reach the inner elements without a complete disassembly.

Minolta auto bellows rokkor 100mm 4.0 (triplet) on automatic bellows.
The Rokkor TC 135mm 4.0 preset once was in 1965 my first much used extra lens on foldable bellows for my Minolta SR-1.
I wanted to get this much later produced 100mm lens to compare.
Thank You Dog
Ofcourse it wil not be as good as my 100mm 4.0 macrolens (5/4 design).

I have those. I ended up drilling two holes in the ring and using the pointy part of the lens wrench to get it out. Now searching for that 58mm name ring I took of some old zoom and put 'somewhere'....
