Couple of Sun zooms. Had a few. Like the quality of early Sun lenses.

My mini-set of chrome-nose FD lenses

I don't want them all: the Tamron 17mm 3.5 is suposed to be better than the 17mm FD, the 35mm f/2 is way too expensive, the 50mm f/1.8 gets superseded by the f/1.4

From left to right:
24mm 2.8, 100mm 2.8, 35mm 3.5, 135mm 3.5 and 50mm 1.4
Original BW 55 hood for 24, 35 and BS 55 for 50mm, BT 55 for 100 and 135.

For phun and photography!

my favorite flea market recently reopened, made my first visit since march today and my favorite vendor was there, he always has piles of stuff i've never even heard of.. and surely enough, today i came up a canon FD 35-70mm 2.8-3.5 SSC if fairly good trim (and $25!), very curious to see how it compares with the tamron SP 01A.

US$36 buy now. Worth it at that price even if it isn't as good as the 24-50.

Good lens. check the iris operation - prone to "lazy iris" syndrome.

Nice. I have two of these but one has stiff focus and one has fungus. Before those two, there was another one that never arrived. I sent offer to the seller for $50 for a mint set, but got counter for $399. In the end I won the bid for $36. I thought seller was reluctant to ship so I asked him if he is unhappy he doesn't need to ship. Apparently he didn't ship. Now the lens is still there for $299 or $399.

Haha, thanks. I might not initially as he might have thought $50 is low ball. As a matter of fact, in the short period time, this 52BB did sell around that price.

Please show us some samples taking with this lens when you get a chance. Thanks.

Just received a mint Yashica ML 50mm f/1.4. Anybody experience with this lens? It does pretty good on Photodo.

Yes. The ML 1.4/50mm is a nicely made lens, and it feels really solid and rugged. It is heavy and relatively large for a 1980s 1.4/50mm lens. Compared to the Zeiss CY Planar 1.4/50mm it is longer, heavier, has clearly less detail resolution, and less contrast (=less color).

Minolta MC 2.8/16mm Fisheye Rokkor - as far as I know this was the fastest "full frame Fisheye" of its time:

The lens looks like new, it really is in an excellent shape, and focusing is smooth and without any play. It was one of the last few MC-II type lenses still missing in my collection Wink. Now it someone has a MC-II 2.8/21mm or a MC-II 1.8/35mm ... let me know Wink

According to Dennis Lohmanns "Minolta Lens List" (http://minolta.eazypix.de/lenses/) the Minolta MC lenses are classified as

1) MC-I (flat metal focusing grip):

2) MC-II (corrugated metal focusing grip)

3) MC-X (rubber focusing grip)

Got it. Thanks. Seems I've always forgotten the characteristics of MC-I , which I think are not very common.
