That's quite the "catch". Seems that anything spent on such a damaged optic is one ¥ too many

It shoots great though. Wink

The aperture mechanism and focus are in great shape, and I don't worry about scratching it up carrying it around out in the hills and forests. It's quickly become a favorite.

I am curious if the lens is much better then my old MC lens from 1973 (I still have).

Yep, it is. Surprising performer on 24 MP FF! Even wide open and in the infinity range, the the extreme corners of the lens are tack sharp.
No CAs visible (in this respect the MD 4/100 Macro is better than the MD 2.5/100, the MC/MD 3.5/100 Macro and the AF 2/100mm).

Well I'm done, my collection is complete with the arrival of the 28mm f3.5 Super Tak.

I now have every lens I'll ever need....

Laugh 1

No but seriously looking forward to discovering it all over again on the 5D. I didn't really like it on the K5, and preferred the 24mm for my casual meandering that has become my chosen photography pursuit. On the the 5D, 24mm feels ridiculous and I had that familiar comfortable feeling whilst looking at 28mm. Well see how long the love affair lasts this time..

Canon FD 2/28mm, a well known performer according to Sandro:
http://sistemacanonfd.blogspot.com/p/i-migliori-obiettivi-canon-fd.html

The lens is in very nice condition (although not mint), and it is clearly better than my nFD 2/28mm.

Here shown together with a late FD 2/35mm and a F-1 i already had before:

My patience has paid off. I have been looking for a Pentax K 30mm for a long time and finally I was able to buy one at an affordable price in very nice condition, as well as the 35 / 3.5, of which I already own a copy.

Nice find. That one is on my wish list as well. (The 30 for a bargain Wink )

Auto Yashinon-DS 50mm 1.9, beautiful Meyer Orestor 135mm 2.8 zebra and a Super-Takumar 24mm 3.5
With a Yashica TL Electro X. The camera looks great, but is dead, I fear.
It had a 6V battery instead of 2.7V, that might have killed the circuits.

Yes, when I saw it I really couldn't resist.

Awwwwww snap.

The late model 28mm SMC Takumar hits the mirror on the 5D.

BLAST!

I thought I checked that carefully on the internets. Sad

#le sigh. Suppose I'll find a modern AF 28mm and just move on with my life..

Bags of snot Batman!
That's crook.
What mounts don't hit the mirror on a 5D?
Sounds like you need a mirrorless camera as a second body. Fuji XE's can be cheap

Keeping it cheap right now but couldn't resist bagging an Enna Munchen Tele-Ennalyt 240mm f4.5 for about half the going rate. Here's hoping its half usable.. 🤣

Other than that the Pentina arrived and it is pure #DDRporn

Only had time to have a check of it and it appears to be in good condition mechanically, though getting used to the on body aperture/Shutter speed control might be an experience...

Optics on the Tessar are nice and clean and the design is similar to the one Enna used on their interchange base range of exakta lenses.

Light meter appears to be working but I'll have to check that against a digital beforehand though, the built in exposure calculator is simplicity itself

The rangefinder is really nice (as a glasses wearer I can actually see it fully for once..) and the viewfinder ample. Ergonomically it's space age East German. Putting film in will again be an experience...

I'm biased because I have one too. Wink

Interestingly, it's almost exactly the same lens as the 55mm Auto Mamiya/Sekor f/1.8. Only the rear element mounting is a little different. I know because I took them apart consecutively, not realizing how similar they are.

They're excellent lenses - among the best old 55 1.8s I've tried.

I spotted this komine made vivitar 28-50mm and felt I should add it to my little collection of komine made vivitar zooms (28-90mm, 100-200mm, 70-210mm). I think its a bit rare, very little in terms of pics/info on line. Serial 28000528!

I just inherited 840 cameras and lenses. Some of the stuff was worth less than $1. Other pieces were quite valuable. It took my friend 60 years to accumulate. It will take me years to find new homes for it.
This lens was one that I decided to keep. The second picture is my living room with a small portion of the stuff.

I've noticed this one for quite a while but didn't pull the trigger. Instead, I grabbed a CPC 28-50mm which I guess is made by Cosina.

Thanks!
I'm just setting up a dark room, so it´s nice to have this classic mechanical camera.
the Angenieux is quite excellent.

In the last couple of weeks...

Pentax M 45-125/4 & 85-210/3.5 zooms
Canon FD 35-105/3.5 & 20-35L zooms
Minolta MD III 35-70, 28/2.8 & 50/1.7

Also an X-700 for the MD lenses, as it’s the only one of the major systems I’ve never tried ‘TIL now.
