I'm curious what qualifies as a decent price for that lens now. All listings I've seen have been over $100. I paid $61 for a mint MC 30cm F4.5 with the original leather case and caps last year. Now I see the lowest BIN price for the MC is $250 from the U.S and $119 for the MD from Japan. Sold BIN listings were between $60 and $100 for the MC and I could only find 2 MD sold between $150-200. Perhaps I was extremely lucky? |

I paid this kind of price (although this auction has a long time to go so may cost more in a couple of days... depends on demand...).
Given these 300 mm have not a great reputation, I would think anything above 100£ would look expensive. But what do I know? How badly do you want one? _________________ Antoine

Prices for the latest MD IF version (7l/5g) of 150 to 200 Euro sound reasonable at least here in Europe. I've paid Euro 180 almost 15 years ago in mint condition from a photo dealer in Germany. US and Japan prices are usually lower.
The older MC version (6l/6g) is a different lens and not as good as the newer MD lens with LD glass. _________________ Thomas Bernardy

I suppose it depends on your needs. I know the MC has a high/equal resolution in the centre, and the MD seems to improve the corners but many users then complain of the higher vignetting. Oddly, the MD CA expands on stopping down so by F11 the performance of both lenses is somewhat similar. It doesn't have the long focus throw and tripod mount of the MC. Realistically, neither lens is that great. |

65GBP is not a bad price if you're happy with it. I like mine - it is quite sharp on film and good enough adapted to m43 so long as there is not a great demand for small detail.

Definitely! I'm fortunate that I have pretty much everything I wanted, including a last piece that I thought I would wait years for! I'll have that in a few weeks to share here.

I agree, the 200 cropped probably outperforms the 300, at least on a digital body. |

Just having a lucky week.
Last lens that I obtained for my enlarger was the Kowa 2.8/50, and then this lovely piece came along as well.
Could not resist, as I once owned this lens, and lent it - with my enlarger - to an acquaintance for use by his daughter who was studying photography.
She lost interest in photography and "gave" the enlarger to her friend to use.
You guessed it - never to be seen again!
So here it is - Komuranon-S 3.5/50 enlarger lens.
Before its demise, this lens was my go-to for printing. It out-performed the 2.8/50 EL Nikkor and I am very chuffed to have found one again
