Like 1 Like 1 Like 1 made for Robot once, very sharp and high contrast, it shows!!

I think this one may have been made for the Robot. It came with an odd spacer that may have been to adjust the flange distance to the Leica. I used the lens on a Fuji so it really didn't matter.

Yesterday I bought a Pentax ES with three lenses. All Takumars. There were 28mm f3.5, 50mm f1.4 and 200mm f4. I bought the kit because I wanted the 50mm lens. There was also a set of Vivitar extension tubes.

A thing of beauty! - a man after my own heart!

As well as photography, astronomy is my other passion. I bought a Celestron C8 Powerstar about 25 years ago which I am still using. It's not computerised like yours so polar alignment and setting coordinates has to be done manually, but I love it. A great telescope! Enjoy.

Thanks Ed,I also have been passionately interested in Astronomy watching Carl Sagans Cosmos series but could never afford not just the Telescope but the number of accessories required. This was purchased at a bargain basement price as the owner needed to purchase a telescope which was able to be more portable so as he and is son could travel to more dark skies and easier set up.

Yep. It is rare. Fortunately, it is even cheaper than much more common Biotar 75 made in the same period. Wink

Yes indeed, but softer (at least the later zebra ones are). Great for portraits I would guess...

I think so. It should be a great lens for portraits which is the strength of many Enna lenses.

Just acquired a nice copy of the Bell & Howell 17-68mm f2.2 made for them by Angenieux. It is a beautiful C-mount lens from circa late 1950's to early 1960's. List price of lens was US$429.95 back then when it was new. My cost was US$170 which includes shipping.:

Just arrived a pair of Takumar lenses with m42 mounts. Both have original Takumar cases and original Takumar caps. Both lenses appear very close to new and operate flawlessly. The lenses were sold together for one money. Cost for the pair was US$141 including shipping:

Thank you, vis. Very kind of you to say. I'm not actually certain about the rarity of my lens. They seem to be around. It is a little confusing not knowing what I paid for the lens, since it was a package deal. And the 35mm, while not a special lens, is nevertheless a very nice lens in its own right.

As for you, Klaus, I know you have virtually every lens ever manufactured. Wink

If I began today I would not live long enough to acquire the equal of your collection. You know, Klaus, you need to hire a large football stadium for a week, lay out all your lenses on the pitch (which they will cover), and then snap a family photo!

Laugh 1 Friends

Anyway, as between the 1.8 and the 1.9, opinions differ but the 1.8 is generally considered the slightly better lens. The 1.8 has the upgraded, revised optical formula.

But for what I paid I'm very happy with my 1.9, especially considering its condition. I did want the extra coatings and I got 'em. So all is well.

PostPosted: Sat Jul 08, 2017 10:11 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Yes, the 1.9 is same formula as Super-Takumar, but with S-M-C coating. The formula is designed to be slightly soft wide open, like many lenses designed for portraits.

Guess it sounded like bragging, sorry for that...

I do have many lenses, possibly too many, but in few years I will massively reduce my collection.
No worries, I will announce it here Wink

Oh there comes a time when simple statements of facts sounds like bragging. Aside, you have certainly earned bragging rights!

So easy to say, rolls right off the tongue. Laughing. (I wonder about the trigger event in a few years. Smile

Oh, Klaus, you can be such a weenie.

To quote the immortal Bear Bryant:

"It ain't bragging if it's true!"

What you wrote is true. You were right. Only a chump would think you were bragging. And I'm no chump.

Course if you start selling lenses then my very high opinion of you might descend. We lens junkies do NOT sell lenses. My collection may pale when compared with yours, but I've never sold a lens . . . ever! They can be sold when I'm gone. Twisted Evil

And finally, it is impossible to have too many lenses. This is by definition. Wink
