Okay....DON'T HESITATE, and don't be afraid to SAY IT RIGHT NOW! What is your current dream lens right at this very minute? What is in your head right at this moment of reading, for a lens you want?
For me, it is the Ultron, such as Klaus has...it's what I've been thinking about the past ten minutes.
And just before that, it was Orio's Zeiss 50/3.5....BUT since this is what we have on our minds RIGHT NOW...the Ultron is the one.
What's yours? _________________

Oh boy, exactly my thoughts!!
Perhaps another Leica lens would be nice (1.4/35, 1.4/50 or 2/90, maybe the Zeiss Distagon T* 1.4/35 or Planar T* 1.4/85 instead)... _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

Too bad, one sold recently on eBay for GBP 132.00 (Click here to see on Ebay).
As for my current GAS dream, it's the SMC Pentax 28/2, the Pentax version of the "Hollywood" Distagon. Zeiss and Pentax had a brief cooperation in the 1970s that led to the "K" bayonet mount (a Zeiss design), as well as the 15/3.5 and 28/2 lenses. Here are some interesting pages about this rare lens:

Then perhaps a Zeiss or Leica 1.4/35 would be even better for you (and without that hassle of rebuilding the Rokkor to make it fit to the 5D.) _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

Actually, I'm feeling a lot better lately, thanks Larry. The symptoms aren't nearly as strong as they were a while ago and I'm driven more by need than by lust these days. At the moment all I need is a decent K-mount 35mm lens, but I can make do with zooms until one comes along. _________________ Peter - Moderator |
