My biggest bargain by far: I bought a box of camera gear at an estate sale for $200. In it were a Nikon F2, Nikon n8008s, Nikkor-UD 20, Nikkor 35, Nikkor 135, Vivitar 400mm in t2 nikon mount, Panagor 90mm in Canon FD mount, Canon 50mm f1.8 FD and a couple of rangefinder cameras and set of filters. I sold the Nikon F2 and Vivitar 400m and more than recouped my money. So essentially the rest was free.

We do not have flea market or local store sells used lenses here. 90% I have are from overseas bidding website and the postage is US$20 at least for a short lens. Sad

Vario-Sonnar 35-70........SH**!!!!!!!!!!

Well i got a bargain today!
Nikon Nikkor 55mm f1.2 Ai (i guess) $60
Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 135mm f2.8 $30

Biggest:
Nikkor-P 300mm f4.5 - $10.
Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX with 2x and 1.4x tcs - $420
Angenieux 9.5-142mm f1.8-2.6 $3.

Sadly, the Nikkor-P and the Angenieux were in bad shape. Just for fun!

A $20 CZ50mm f1.8 Pancolar, had to be shipped from Pakistan which doubled the price.
A CZ 58mm f2 Biotar and a Ludwid Meritar 50mm f2.9 for $65.
Both were Ebay buys that were not listed properly and identified by my trusty magnifying glass.

Wow, some great bargains here. I have to keep my eyes open when I'm in Europe this summer, not many bargains out here on the (Hawaiian) islands.

My best catch: I bought a lot of 20 c-mount lenses at an estate auction for $1300. In the lot were 2 Angenieux 25/0.95 lenses, sold one of them for $1300 and got to play for free with the rest Smile

My best bargain was a Canon 135mm Leica-fitting rangefinder lens off eBay - poorly illustrated and without any detailed description. I was the only bidder at 99 pence (about $1.50). It turned out to be in really good condition, and the genuine Leitz screw to M bayonet adapter on it was a welcome surprise and bonus!

My next-best bargain (a few years ago) - from a camera shop - was a Konica Autoreflex T with a 40mm Makro Kilar and the necessary screw/bayonet adapter ... but that cost £9 ($13.50).

Happy days!

I think every lens I bought was bargain.

$65 Minolta Beercan
$65 Minolta 50mm f/1.7 AF
$80 Minolta 35-105 (old)
$100 Vivitar Series 1 200MM M42
$100 Flek 35mm f/2.4
$100 Vivitar Series 1 90mm f/2.5

And now considering Zeiss Sonnar 180mm for $260. Is that a good price?
