I have just purchased a Voigtlander Super-Dynarex 135mm f4 lens from eBay and just want to check the lens mount before ordering an adapter.
I think it is a DKL mount adapter I need as its a bayonet mount fitting, however I could be wrong as I am no expert in these matters.
Link to lens on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Voigtlander-Super-Dynarex-135mm-1-4-no-5669539/332281828200?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648.
Your help would be appreciated.

It certainly looks like a Deckel mount, Voigtlander flavor.
While in Manila I recovered my Dads old Kodak Retina Reflex S, which may actually be fixable, and my 135 Schneider. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

It's definitely DKL for the Voigtlaender Bessamatic and Ultramatic cameras. _________________ Thomas Bernardy

Might I suggest that you ask the seller of the adapter if they have actually tried the lens, and on what camera they tested it with.
I have this lens, and on a Sony full-frame mirrorless (A7r) it will vignette with a typical DKL-to-E mount adapter.
I found the best solution was to use my trusty DKL-to-M42 adapter (from ebay seller c-yeenon) and mount that to an M42-to-E adapter - the benefit with my M42 adapter is that it has a close focus helical, thereby improving the long minimum focus distance with the Dynarex. And no vignette either.
Good luck. _________________ Lochlann

This is a good suggestion.
I did the same with my copy of this lens, acquiring the DKL to M42 adapter and then the lens could be used with the Fujifilm and Pentax adapter mounts that took M42.

I have used various Chinese DKL/Minolta-Sony A adapters for my copy of the lens to use it on my APSC Sony A77M2.
They all work fine, though in some cases have experienced problems with the aperture mechanism of the adapter (sometimes it disengages from the aperture label of the lens; you need to turn it to full aperture to engage it again).
Never experienced vignneting, though still suffering the long MFD of the Super-Dynarex.
Perhaps should try the suggestion about DKL/M42 adapter... _________________ Returning to amateur photography after 25 years apart.

Thanks, 19magen, oldhand and Vics42 for your replies and input. Very good idea using the DKL to m42 adapter. I have
ordered a Voightlander DKL to m42 adapter from China which maybe with me mid July. I have 3 or 4 m42 to Sony e adapters for use with m42 lenses that I have. If everything works out I should be able to get better MFD which is a win -win situation that I would never have thought of myself. |

Yes, it is a cheaper solution if you already have the M42 adapters.
I don't think that you will notice any difference in MFD however.
The adapters will work together to give you the correct registration distance.
It is a great lens by the way and very compact

Oldhand - if one uses an adapter that has a built-in focus helical, you can indeed reduce the MFD. Depending on the extended length the helical permits, this extension can be quite some length. _________________ Lochlann

Yes indeed. I have used the E-mount helical>m42 w m42>DKL with my schneider retina lenses to good effect. I highly recommen that approach. There is also a E-mount>EOS helical which is useful as there are oodles of adapters for EOS to a variety of lenses C/Y, OM, PK, Exakta, Praktica B, You could even go so rfar as Nex eos ehelical to eos m42 to m42 dkl. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |

Ah, yes, I see.
Mine are simple adapters with no focus helical, so they simply add the lens at its correct registration distance.
And of course the mfd of the lens is as per spec - just a tad under 4m.
I use an extension tube if I want it closer.
Thanks for the correction
