Hello,

I bought Vivitar Series 1 28-90 f/2.8-3.5, hadn't tested the lens properly as the package arrived in the late evening, however I found out that push-pull zooming is really stiff. Focusing is fine, but you need to put a way to much force to zoom in/out.
Do any of you have any idea how to cope with such problem?
First thing that come up my mind (and quite obvious) is to disassemble, clean and re-lube, but I wouldn't like to do this as I don't have any good lubricant for lenses. I read somewhere that Vivitar S1 70-210 Kiron made has screws with which you could regulate stiffness of zooming, maybe this Vivitar, although Komine made, has similar feature. I've repaired a few lenses already, including Kiron 28-85 varifocal, Viv S1 70-210 Tokina made zoom and Pentax-M 80-200 zoom, so I'm prepared what to meet inside old zoom Wink, but would love to skip that part if there is any other solution.

Any ideas, opinions and maybe guides about disassembly will be appreciated.

Mateusz
