Hi,

I bought on ebay Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5 ver.2 (Tokina made) and unfortunately glass have some dirty fungus. The biggest is located on probably two first front elements. As this lens has quite high reputation I would like to clean the glass out of fungus and enjoy it. However, I only disassembled two or three primes and the zoom lens is magic to me in terms of disassembly.
Could anyone help me out with it?

Instruction step by step would be lovely Wink, but any personal insight or even good word might be helpful Very Happy.

For now I managed to unscrew the 'name ring' (with Vivitar....VMC written on it), and to take out front elements, but have no faintest idea how to separate them from each other (if it is even possible).

EDIT: Ok, I found out how to separate them - for future generation: you need to unscrew ring that holds the second lens from behind.
EDIT2: Well I managed to unscrew a few groups of lenses until I reach aperture blades, but this was sufficient to clean out the fungus.

Cheers
Mateusz

This is not an easy lens to work with, good luck

google: The kiron made vivitar series 1 repair manual

and the first hit is a pdf with instructions on how to repair this lens (the kiron made but they are very similar)
