This lens is on its way to me and I wanted to see if anyone have one and have any opinions on it.
It is a Vivitar with serial number starting with 22. They seem to be quite uncommon out there.
When I get it I will make a mini review and maybe compare it to a MD Rokkor 35mm 2.8 for reference. |

I didn't even know it existed. There's some info on it here: https://www.fujix-forum.com/threads/vivitar-35mm-f2-8-auto-wide-angle-kiron.48811/
It may have some soap bubble potential in the right conditions _________________ pentaxian |

Nice I like bubble bokeh. I will try to make some.
I think I have only seen one once before for sale so probably not too many made. |

Rare as hens teeth! One was sold on pentax forums years ago, otherwise I never see it.
The tokina made vivitar 35mm's are most common, in fixed mount and T4, then the komine made ones with 28xxxx serials crop up every so often. I found that to be a good lens:
http://forum.mflenses.com/vivitar-komine-35mm-f2-8-m42-mount-t71766,highlight,%2Bvivitar+%2B35mm.html
The tokinas seemed to be soft away from the centre. _________________ pentax ME super (retired)

I like the landscape shots and colors it makes on the NX20. I've actually been looking for a Cosina Vivitar 35mm because I have a Vivitar 24mm made by them and like the close focusing and bokeh so I want to see if the 35mm is similar. But now I found a Kiron version instead |

I have now tested the lens and found that it is an average performer. Not the best edge sharpness.
It has nice tonality in BW.

Your shots are very nice but the lens looks to be a pretty average performer.
One old, cheap 35 I have found that I like a lot for it's character but also sharpness is the Sankor. very common to see for sale here in the UK.

Thanks, yes the center looks good but I'd like to see better sharpness across the frame.
I have the Sankor too. Liked it for close-ups mostly. Here is a thread I made about it.

It has some charm for sure and is usable. I forgot to mention that I have boosted the contrast a bit so these shots are not straight out of camera. |

I have this lens in two versions. Vivitar and P.R.O., an American distributor. This is scanned from a film image taken in 2003. I think it performed quite well. _________________ In Search Of "R" Serial Soligors
