MC Vitacon auto zoom 28-80mm 1:3.5-4.5 macro 62mm

Not much found about this lens. Seems to be sold under many different names Hanimex, Quantaray, Vitacon, SUN with different mounts (PK, AI, FD). Not mark of great quality I suppose.
Heavy piece of glass with very nice heavy construction and feel. Made in Japan
Found this (http://lens-club.ru/lenses/item/c_649.html) russian page which has information about PK mount version. There is written that it has 15 elements in 13 groups.

Also this additional info
angle 75 ° 23 '- 30 ° 16'
MDF 1.8m (body), 0.07m (macro)
maximum magnification 1: 4
diameter 66 mm

There is also picture of original box with price sticker of 330$ Shocked

Mine is older rotating ring FD-mount. I will post some pictures and test shots later. If I remember right its nothing impressive and suffers heavy barrel distortion and produces much flare.

Added pictures of lens

Also pictures taken from web
Sun:

Hanimex

Quantaray

As you can see only rubber grips and colours change

Actually macro does not seem that bad. On the other hand it seems horrible wide open, but I have to test more carefully.
Sony nex-7 adapted with KF concept FD-NEX, RAW from camera without edit.
1/160
ISO400
F6 (probably)

These are just quick test shots with setting just quickly dialed in so not perfect situation.

Links to original size pics. (warning 6000x4000)

Yes, please.
It sounds similar to the Tamron SP 28-80/3.5-4.5 Adaptall-2,
but the filter thread is 67mm on my copies.
Probably not the same lens.

That looks like a tokina - what I call the "heavy metal" series from the late 1970's, 'built like a tank' 2 ring zooms. See:

https://www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/tokina-28-85-mm-f-3-5-4-5-x.html
update looking at your pics side by side with a pic of the tokina there are clear structural differences - other manufacturers made similar lenses with a 3rd "macro" ring.
update 2 looks like a Sun - Sun was a maufacturer primarily for other brands.

https://www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/sun-28-80mm-f3-5-4-5-macro-mc.html

and also of the same series?

If I have understand right Sun is not high level quality?

I will try to took some photos with this later. I can't do anything scientific since adapting something to nex-7 does not give truth about lens. If i have motivation I can try to took some pictures with Canon AE-1P too to see how horrific is corner darkening with it. If I remember right it was heavy.
