|
|
I have a Zeiss Triotar 135/4 in Exakta mount.
The helical is completely stuck at infinity. There are no screws that I can see, maybe they are covered by the focus ring.
I tried injecting lighter fluid and WD-40 (light oil) into the mechanism from the back and in the edges of the focus ring, no luck so far.
The only thing I can do is unscrew the front lenses, but that doesn't get me to the helical.
So, my next step is to put it in a bath of lighter fluid.
Any ideas before I go this far ? _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

I have a copy of this lens that works great. The aperture turns as smooth as butter but the focus turns kinda hard...
I would like to see pics of opening this lens, maybe I could make the focus nice and smooth |

I've never worked on the Triotar; I have notes on some other CZJ lenses at http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-81.html , I don't know how similar their construction would be. _________________ I don't know what I want to be when I grow up |
