Using a trial of Helicon Focus at the moment. Seems to be very good software; much easier to prevent artefacts than focus stacking in Photoshop. Supports stacking of RAW files as well, which is great. Here, 2 images, both made with the Tokina AT-X 90mm f/2.5 macro (camera: Sony A7R2). Clickable for larger size.

What was the purpose of stacking so many pictures?
It's not a macro 1:1 or less.
You have plenty of DOF at f/8 or f/10 without getting into diffraction. _________________ Moderator Himself |

Finally decided to buy a one year license for Helicon Focus. I get consistently better results than with Photoshop. It's not totally flawless though; sometimes it needs slight retouching. The retouching tools are OK, but not very precise. |
