Set at f/16. Does sliding one of those tabs in slots camera side of lens operate aperture?

When I press the buttons in either side of the mount one of the tabs moves and when I turn the apperture ring the other tab moves. But neither seem to effect the apperture, I don't see the blades at all. |

I've got an adapter coming tomorrow so will see what it's like wide open. Do you have any idea what to search for for more info... When I search Hanimex 135 MC it brings up a different lens.
It seems to be a macro lense? Or it has a weird macro extension that pops out the top. But I'm fairly new to this... So a bit of experimentation I think will be in order.
Would be good to get it back in full working order though. |

I'm going to have a play around with it tomorrow and see what sort of images it produces. I've seen some sample galleries and as a macro it looks fairly nice with some good bokeh.

Hoya did not make lenses but stamped its name on lenses made by other companies such as Tokina. The Hanimex 135 mm f/2,8 was manufactured by Makina and it was one of the worst (if not the worst...) 135 mm third party lenses out there. But since all 135 mm lenses were somewhat Ok or better, you might be satisfied by the images taken a few stops down. I've had the Makinon already a few times and never kept them longer than a week or so... |

The 'macro' next to infinity on your lens is also in the style/font of Makinon lenses. |

It's certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed but the colour, feel and bokeh is quite nice... Atleast, I like it... And you can't really complain for a fiver.
If I could get my head around the macro extension focusing bit though that would be good.
This is straight out of the camera.

The colour it is producing is the best bit of it. I'm going to take it apart on Thursday and see what's going on with it. Fingers crossed it's an easy fix! |
