Vivian Maier: A Woman's Lens

October 6 - December 18, 2013

Opening reception: Sunday, October 6, 4-7 p.m.

Since the discovery of her negatives in a Chicago storage locker
in 2007, Vivian Maier (1926-2009) has garnered international
attention for her poignant street photography, very little of which she
printed during her lifetime. Don't miss this opportunity to view a rare
talent whose rich, and little-known, life story is still unfolding, and whose
photographs have made her a posthumous sensation.

Curated by WSRC Scholars Karin Rosenthal and Susan Eisenberg.

Co-sponsored by the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University

All images from the John Maloof Collection courtesy of Howard Greenberg Gallery.

Are you sure 'seminal'? I'd be fine with 'fascinating', 'original', 'suddenly popular', 'phenomenal' (as in, 'suddenly popular'), 'good', 'quirky', 'rediscovered', 'almost-forgotten'. But, even speaking as an admirer, I'd draw the line at 'important', 'influential', 'major' (a bit too soon) or 'seminal' (much too soon).
