Today I decided to try out two recently acquired lenses on a little trip: the MC Rokkor-PG 58mm f/1.2 and the Auto Mamiya/Sekor 50mm f/2.

First the Rokkor:

Of course the Rokkor is most fun to use at wide apertures, but please click the following picture to see the resolution of the lens when stopped down to f/8. Quite remarkable I think:

Then the Mamiya:

And please click the following picture. I'm frankly quite stunned how clean and sharp the image is from this old lens (focus is on bricks):

I have to say that this Mamiya's got really interesting rendering and bokeh. I suppose sharpness isn't the issue as well. I'll check it out, at least out of curiosity, it's got "character" and I don't know much about it. Rokkor is of course a fine lens, but I'll remain satisfied with my 1.4 MC-II version for now, or at least until I get tempted by some good deal. Smile

I bought the Rokkor only because it was too cheap to ignore. It seems to be a good lens though. The Mamiya seems to be very fine as well. Nice bokeh, and very sharp and clean images stopped down.
