Greetings, all.

An autofocus Minolta 50 f/1.7 came to me as part of a larger lot. I use Minolta SR mount lenses on my Sony A7ii, but I don't have an adapter for Minolta autofocus.

I have little interest in autofocus and if I want to use a Minolta 50 f/1.7 I also have a MD version.

So my question is, if I don't keep the AF f/1.7 will I be missing anything - optically - compared to the MD f/1.7?

I don't think so. I don't have the F1.7 versions to compare but both F1.4 versions MD/AF and there is no visible difference.
The optical part is the same on both the F1.7 and F1.4 versions MD III and AF.

Thanks, Thomas. That's what I was hoping to hear. I'll be happy to pass along the AF to someone who will enjoy using it.
