Rather rare, niche, combined multifocal lens.
Since I have no Z and R tubes tested only at 175 and 225 mm.
After some cleaning and relubinng I find it sharp.
More pictures taken with it please find on my flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/129563138@N03/albums/72157720049498406

Very interesting and unusual lens indeed. By the way separate the dot (at the end of the sentence) from the Flickr link, it doesn't work like this without modifying it.

Given:

from http://www.novacon.com.br/odditycameras/weth.htm
Quote:

H= Main lens 250mm with focus and diaphragm
N= Negative lens element – main focal lens extender
P= Positive lens element –main focal lens contractor
Z= Hollow tube 1 –focus arrangement corrector
R= Hollow tube 2 –close focusing extender

N + Z -> F = 315 : 6.3
Z -> F = 250 : 5
N + P -> F = 225 : 4.5
P -> F = 175 : 3.5

Seems like this scheme can be used with other lenses, such as mirror lenses, to vary focal length. Smile
